Cía Artists Management represents a curated roster of six dance companies from the United States, Canada and India led by some of today’s most innovative choreographers and artistic leaders in contemporary, street and social dance, disability arts and classical Indian dance traditions.
Providing artist management, touring strategy, and consulting services, Cía Artists connects artists and organizations seeking to expand their reach through national and international engagement.
Founded by Sandy Garcia, Cía Artists works closely with artists, presenters, festivals and cultural institutions to cultivate touring opportunites that bring compelling live performances and meaningful engagement and residency activities to audiences and communities. Through a relationship-centered approach, Cía Artists provides individualized support grounded in each artist’s practice while fostering long-term partnerships and creating lasting impact both onstage and beyond.

Sandy Garcia (she/her) founded Cía Artists Management in 2026. With more than 20 years of experience in arts administration, artist representation and touring, she has worked across dance, theater and music - developing a focus in the dance sector. Cía Artists is an arts management practice dedicated to cultivating meaningful touring opportunities, lasting partnerships and thoughtful artistic exchange. It was established to create a practice where artists receive individualized support and where touring is understood as a process of building relationships, fostering artistic exchange and creating impactful experiences for artists, presenters and communites alike.
Her interest in performing arts presenting and touring began while she was an undergraduate theater student working in the box office and as a production assistant at Cal Performances in Berkeley, California. There she saw firsthand the important role performing arts presenters play in curating a diverse range of live performances for their audiences, and how these efforts expand perspectives, spark curiosity, and foster a shared sense of being and belonging. That experience continues to shape her belief that the performing arts can connect people across cultures and communities.
After graduating, Sandy worked in the performing arts department at MASS MoCA before earning an MA in Performance Studies from NYU. She went on to work with several New York City arts organizations, including the inaugural PERFORMA Biennial and Summer on the Hudson, before joining Rena Shagan Associates, Inc. (RSA). There, under the mentorship of Rena Shagan, author of Booking & Tour Management for the Performing Arts, a foundational text for the industry, she served as Director of Administration, International Tour Coordinator, and Booking Representative. Her time at RSA instilled in her the values of professionalism, mutual respect and the importance of relationships – principles that continue to guide her work today.
Sandy went on to join Pentacle as Director of Booking, where she represented a varied roster of dance artists and companies. She collaborated with RUBBERBAND to launch The Green Fund (2023–2027), a first-of-its-kind eco-touring initiative supporting climate-conscious touring practices through fee subsidies to presenters, encouraging more efficient booking and environmentally sustainable tour logistics.
These experiences ultimately led Sandy to establish Cía Artists Management where the belief is that successful representation begins with listening: understanding each artist’s creative practice and definition of success, then working collaboratively to develop opportunities that are both artistically meaningful and sustainable.
She has participated as a mentor for Urban Bush Women’s Choreographic Center Initiative Producing Program (CCI 2.0), NYU’s Artist Development Program for Dance, and Mare Nostrum Elements’ Emerging Choreographer Series.
Her national service includes serving as a lead organizer of the Dance/USA Equitable Contracting Joint Working Group, which brought together agents, managers, and presenters to advance more equitable contracting practices. She has been invited to participate in panels on equitable contracting and relationship-centered booking and touring at the APAP and ArtsMidwest conferences, contributed to the Creating New Futures Contract Working Group, and served as an advisor for the APAP ArtsForward Grants Program. Sandy has served as Chair and Co-Chair of Dance/USA’s Agent, Manager, Producer and Promoter Council (AMPP) and as a member of the Dance/USA Board of Trustees. She currently serves on the Western Arts Alliance Governance Committee, the APAP|NYC 2027 Conference Committee, and is a member of the Dance Managers Collective.
